Renewal

Passports with a validity period of five years can be extended for a further period of five years only on submission of the following. Please note that the validity of a passport is for a maximum period of ten years only from the date of its first issue.

	Form 'O' duly completed. Form 'O' could be obtained as a Word Document by clicking on the link http://www.slcgsyd.com/FormsDocs/FORM_O.doc
	Present Sri Lankan Passport
	A fee of $.10/= per year, totalling $.50/= for a period of five years. (Should you require your passport to be mailed back to you, an additional $.10/= would be charged as postage, or you could send us a self addressed, stamped, registered cover within Australia. Outside Australia A$ 15/- would be charged as postage.) Payment could be made by cash, bank cheque or money order, made payable to the *"Consulate General of* *Sri Lanka"*.
	Birth Certificate (original and photocopy) in case of applicants born in Sri Lanka. In case of applicants born outside Sri Lanka, Certificate of Registration of Birth outside Sri Lanka (original and photocopy) issued by the Sri Lanka Mission abroad and Citizenship Certificate (original and photocopy) issued by the Ministry of Defence in Sri Lanka.
	Dual Citizenship Certificate (original and photocopy).
	Form 283 (Certificate or Evidence of Residence Status) from the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs in Australia *[Only for Permanent Residents who have been in Australia for more than two (2) years and for those who do not hold Dual Citizenship.]* A fee would be charged by the Department of Immigration for this Certificate. This Certificate should be a recent one, obtained not more than a month prior to submitting the application for passport to this Consulate General.

Student Visa Holders would be required to produce their Student Identity Card and a letter from the Educational Institution at which the student is studying stating whether "the Student Visa was granted to the applicant or spouse, whether on scholarship and if so, duration and date of completion of study program under the scholarship and who is funding".

Endorsement of married name - applicant will have to produce her Marriage Certificate (original and photocopy).

Please read ALL INSTRUCTIONS contained in the printed application forms carefully and complete same without leaving any 'blanks', as incomplete applications will be rejected.

Kindly note that it would take at least one working day to process an application for renewal of passport.
